Direct Thermal Labels

Direct Thermal Labels

Direct Thermal Labels are commonly used in manufacturing plants for shipping. These labels are different from Thermal Transfer Labels in the way the image is put on the paper. Direct Thermal Labels are printed with heat that is generated in the printer. The heat reacts to the paper, and an impression is created. Direct Thermal Labels are generally more expensive than Thermal Transfer Labels because a ribbon is not needed. The impressions created with Direct Thermal Labels are sometimes less clear than that of a standard Thermal Transfer Label. These labels are also sold in smaller diameter rolls, such as 2″-3″ outer diameter with a 1″ core. Universal Packaging offers next day delivery on stock Direct Thermal Labels, if ordered before 12:00 p.m.
